It doesn’t help that the Stories games still have the old-school, clunky targeting system. You’re right and it’s sort-of unfair to blame the game for problems inherent to the PSP but they become clearer after playing Chinatown Wars. You could argue that the PSP system makes it difficult to adopt a quick play session play style: load times if you don’t use the sleep function, longer play time required to get to a save point albeit less then standard PS2 GTAs, lack of second analog - but still for me having a full featured 3D GTA in a handheld was amazing. You had the seamless world, the voice acting, the radio stations, the vehicles (motorcycles/planes/boats), the ps2 graphics all in portable format. I haven’t played Chinatown Wars but what I liked about the “Stories” games was that there were no compromises.
